While home in Texas over winter recess, Andrew Bellah JE ’22 was busy making plans for the summer before his sophomore year. After researching opportunities—and recalling his peers’ enthusiasm for Yale’s Domestic Summer Award (DSA) program—he accepted an internship in Washington, D.C., with UNICEF USA, the stateside organization supporting the mission of the United Nations Children’s Fund.

“Philanthropy is very important to me and my family,” David Wu ’94 says. “Gwen and I realized we could have a direct impact on students with a permanent scholarship in Yale College.” Together, they created the David and Gwen Wu Scholarship Fund in 2011 and supplemented it with a gift in honor of his class’s twenty-fifth reunion in 2019.

Shirshak Gautam GH ’23 was a member of the Yale community long before he enrolled as a first-year student. He spent a portion of his childhood in New Haven, where his father did postdoctoral research at Yale, before his family moved to Arkansas.

For Californian Noel Rockwell MY ’23, attending college across the country was, at first, somewhat of a culture shock. Within weeks, however, she found a home for herself at Yale by taking full advantage of the university’s unique learning environment, exploring campus, and forging friendships.

On Saturday, November 23, Yalies everywhere will gather to cheer on the Bulldogs as they face Harvard in one of the most storied rivalries in college sports. Attending or watching The Game is a tradition for generations of Yale alumni near and far. And once again, the Yale College Alumni Fund will build on this excitement through the Yale Leads the Way challenge, rallying the support of alumni to sustain the university’s leadership in student excellence, accessibility, innovation, and opportunity.

On October 24th, members of the Yale community gathered to celebrate the university’s newest addition—the Yale Science Building.
